# Accessibility in KODE OS

> How KODE OS supports keyboard navigation, screen readers, and visual accessibility across Cloud BMS and every KODE OS product.

KODE OS supports people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. Accessibility is built into every KODE OS product, including Cloud BMS. There is no separate accessibility mode to turn on, and no setup is required.

## Accessibility coverage

Every KODE OS product meets the KODE Labs accessibility standard:

* [Cloud BMS](/products/kode-os/get-started/introduction)
* [Building BI](/products/building-bi/overview)
* [Graphics](/products/kode-os/graphics/graphic-tool)
* [FDD](/products/fdd/overview)
* [Functional Testing Tool (FTT)](/products/ftt/overview)
* [Launchpad](/products/launchpad/get-started/introduction)
* Building Data Hub
* [EnerG](/products/energ/get-started/introduction)
* [AssetOps](/products/assetops/quickstart/overview)

Across these products, you can expect screen-reader support, keyboard navigation, strong color contrast, and consistent interface components. Existing layouts, workflows, and functionality work the same way for every user.

## Accessibility in Cloud BMS

Cloud BMS uses the same accessible components as the rest of KODE OS. You can navigate and operate the following areas with a keyboard or screen reader:

* [Device details](/products/kode-os/devices/devices) and [point commanding](/products/kode-os/points/commanding-points)
* [Systems](/products/kode-os/systems) and tenants
* [Schedules](/products/kode-os/schedules) and [Optimized Start/Stop](/products/kode-os/oss)
* [Graphics](/products/kode-os/graphics/graphic-tool) in view mode
* Building dashboards

## Using a keyboard

KODE OS supports navigation without a mouse. Common controls include:

| Key | Action |
| - | - |
| <kbd>Tab</kbd> | Move to the next interactive element |
| <kbd>Shift</kbd> + <kbd>Tab</kbd> | Move to the previous interactive element |
| <kbd>Enter</kbd> or <kbd>Space</kbd> | Select a button, link, or other control |
| Arrow keys | Navigate within menus, tabs, and option lists |
| <kbd>Escape</kbd> | Close an open menu, dialog, or panel |

A visible focus indicator shows which element is selected.

## Using a screen reader

KODE OS components work with screen readers through meaningful labels, page structure, control states, and status announcements.

For the best experience:

1. Start your screen reader before you open KODE OS.
2. Use your screen reader’s standard commands to move by headings, links, buttons, forms, and tables.
3. Use KODE OS in a current version of a supported browser.

<Note>
  Screen-reader behavior can vary by browser, operating system, and assistive technology.
</Note>

## Visual accessibility

KODE OS interface components provide:

* Strong color contrast for text and interface controls
* Clear keyboard-focus indicators
* Consistent component styling and behavior
* Information that does not rely on color alone
* Readable text and layouts across the platform

You can also use your browser’s built-in zoom controls to enlarge the interface.

## Report an accessibility issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, contact KODE Labs Support and include:

* The KODE OS application and page
* What you were trying to do
* What occurred
* Your browser and operating system
* The assistive technology you were using, if applicable
* A screenshot or screen recording, when possible

This information helps the team investigate and address the issue.
